David A. Weitz 院士简介
David A. Weitz is the Mallinckrodt Professor of Physics and Applied Physics in the Department of Physics and the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Harvard University. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering, and the American Association of Arts and Sciences, and is a fellow of the American Physical Society. He is the co-director of the BASF Advanced Research Initiative at Harvard and director of the Harvard Materials Research Science and Engineering Center. His group works in the areas of microrheology, microfluidics, interface and colloid science, soft condensed matter, biophysics, colloid chemistry, material science and biomedical science. As listed in Google Scholar, his h-index is 148 and he has 82148 citations.His work spans fundamental science to applications: Many projects are carried out in collaboration with industry. In addition, many other projects are spun out into start-up companies; more than 15 companies have been started from the group, both in the US and Europe, and in China.
